Students who are currently enrolled in Tohoku University as of March 2019 and will enroll in the graduate school in April 2019 must complete online registlation on the "Web Entry System"

as well as submitting applications and required documents.

Application and submission of required documents must be done in person after the registration on the Web Entry System.



Tuition fee Waiver System

1. Tuition fee waiver

Students who are recognized as having difficulty in paying tuition for economic reasons and who are recognized as having outstanding academic capabilities, and students recognized as having other unavoidable circumstances may be exempted from the payment of the full amount, half the amount or one third the amount of tuition after the screening based on the application.

The application must be submitted in each semester. Information on the distribution of application forms and application period will be posted on the bulletin board, etc. Pay attention to the bulletin board to avoid missing the information.

2. Deferment or monthly installment of tuition payment

For students who are recognized as having difficulty in paying tuition by the deadline of payment for economic reasons and who are recognized as having outstanding academic capabilities, and students recognized as having other unavoidable circumstances, the tuition payment may be deferred or paid by the month by the application.

The application must be submitted in each semester. Information on the distribution of application forms and application period will be posted on the bulletin board, etc. Pay attention to the bulletin board to avoid missing the information.

Deferment/Monthly installment of the year 2019 tuition payment

When you wish to apply for deferment or monthly installment of tuition payment, submit the application form by following the instructions below.

How to obtain the application form:

Period of application:

◎Current Students: From Tuesday, February 12, 2019 to Monday, March 18, 2019.
◎New undergraduates and new postgraduates to be enrolled in April: 
From Tuesday, February 12, 2019 to Wednesday, April 10, 2019.
*The application will not be accepted on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays.

Place:

Financial Support Section, Student Services Division (Window [4] on the 1st floor of the Education and Student Support Center, Kawauchi-Kita Campus) (Open 8:30 - 17:00 / Mon. - Fri.)

Result:

The result of application for deferment/monthly instalment of the tuition payment will be posted on the Students Affairs Information System in the end of April for the first semester and in the end of October for the second semester.

Important:

*When false information is found in any document or fabricated documents are submitted,
the approval of the exemption will be revoked and all fees must be paid to the university immediately.
* Submit the application in person (the application by proxy will not be accepted).
* The application will not be accepted for any reason after the deadline .
*Consult with the Financial Support Section at 022-795-7816 /4682 by the day before the deadline
when there are circumstances for not being able to submit the application by the deadline,
such as being hospitalized or long-term business trip, etc.
Any claim after the deadline will not be accepted.
