◎New undergraduates and new postgraduates to be enrolled in April:

Monday, February 19, 2024 ~ Wednesday, April 10, 2024


The deadline differs between the current students and new students. Be sure to submit the application documents before the appropreate deadline.

Submission Rules of Tuition fee Waiver Applications

Undergraduates students who have a visa other than "Student Visa", such as the Permanent resident, Long-term resident or the Spouse of the Japanese national, must contact the Financial Support Section to confirm if you are eligible to apply.

Postgraduate students who have a visa other than "Student Visa", such as the Permanent resident, Long-term resident or the Spouse of the Japanese national, use Checklist A and submit the required documents including your family members in Japan.

The application will not be accepted after the deadline for any reason. When you send the application documents by post, it must be postmarked on or before the deadline.

The application will be excluded from screening procedure if all required documents are not submitted.

Those who are receiving the “Waivers for Exceptional Student” * in the First (Spring) semester 2024, do not need to submit the tuition fee waiver application documents for the First (spring) semester 2024.

*Students who are eligible for the "Waivers for Exceptional Students" are doctoral students who belong to the following programs in the First (spring) semester 2024;
If you are currently applying (or intending to apply) for these programs above, and the outcome will be announced after the Tuition fee waiver application deadline, please submit (1.) Tuition fee waiver application form and (2.) Statement of Scholarship / Incentive Stipend Entitlement Situation (Form A) by the deadline.

In case you are not accepted for any of the program above, and wish to apply for the tuition fee waiver, you must submit the other required documents for the tuition fee waiver application immediately.

Overview

1. Tuition fee waiver

Students who are recognized as having difficulty in paying tuition for economic reasons and who are recognized as having outstanding academic capabilities, or students who are recognized as having other unavoidable circumstances may be exempted from the payment of the full amount, half the amount or one third the amount of tuition after the screening based on the application.

The application must be submitted in each semester. Information on the distribution of application forms and application period will be posted on the University's website, etc. Pay attention to the website to avoid missing the information.

2. Deferment or monthly installment of tuition payment

For students who are recognized as having difficulty in paying tuition by the deadline of payment for economic reasons and who are recognized as having outstanding academic capabilities, or students who are recognized as having other unavoidable circumstances, the tuition payment may be deferred or paid by the month by the application.

The application must be submitted in each semester. Information on the distribution of application forms and application period will be posted on the University's website, etc. Pay attention to the website to avoid missing the information.


Tuition fee Waiver for the First (Spring) Semester of the Year 2024

When you wish to apply for tuition fee waiver, submit the application form by following the instructions below.

How to obtain the application form:

(1) Download the application form from the website and print it.

(2) Ask for the application form directly at the counter of the Financial Support Section, Student Services Division.

1. Send the application documents to the following address by registered mail.

*Please write "Application documents for tuition fee Waiver" in red on the address side of the envelope to be sent.

Attention

*Please send the application documents by registered mail (Kan i Kakitome 簡易書留), LetterPack, EMS or any other delivery methods that you can track the status of your parcel.

2. Submit the application documents at the Financial Support Section office counter

The application must be submitted in person (Any application by proxy will not be accepted).

Result:

The result of application for tuition fee waiver will be posted on the Student Affairs Information System in July for the first (spring) semester and December for the second (autumn) semester.

Important:

*We do not accept proxy submissions.
*When false information is found in any document or fabricated documents are submitted, the approval of the exemption will be revoked and all fees must be paid to the university immediately.
* The application will not be accepted for any reason after the deadline .
*Any claim after the deadline will not be accepted.
